International Politics, also called Global Politics, describes the shift of Power in the world or Power Relations. It also explains how major global players try to dominate, influence and balance the power of other players.

One important point to consider here is that while playing Power Politics, these global players take their respective national interest into consideration as being paramount.

International Politics is essentially a part of the many areas covered under International Relations. Power Politics and Power Relations among states is just a major focus of International Politics among many other issues.
