Gender Euphoria

Media School July 24, 2020

Australia’s trans and gender-diverse performers are in support to flip gender dysphoria to euphoria.

Gender Euphoria is the feeling a 'trans' person gets when he/she/they can start presenting as the gender they identify as and people start treating them accordingly. It is a psychological condition of a (trans)person that includes comfort and sometimes even joy when a that person thinks about the true gender identity of own. For such instances, there is often a strong desire to change one's sex to better match their identity or to be called the correct gendered language.

Gender euphoria can be experienced by non-binary people as binary transgender people experience it having mostly common reasons. And it is important to understand that gender euphoria is the 'pleasure' one gets from being able to express self identity, and it is not directly the concept of 'gender identity'.

The opposite condition of Gender Euphoria is Gender Dysphoria - the absence of that particular pleasure.
