Core Principles of Journalism
Media School August 31, 2024
We can describe the core principles of journalism in many ways, from different angles and by different words. But, all of these efforts will surely indicate or include the following components:
- Honesty
- Accuracy
- Fairness
- Truthfulness
- Independence, and
- Accountability
A journalist can achieve all these qualities only by following a certain code of ethics that focuses on building professional integrity in the field of journalism. A journalist’s unfailing and sincere attempt to follow that code will bring them credibility – the best reward a journalist can expect.
Credibility and public trust can make the media landscape truly resilient.
