30-30-30 Rule in Scriptwriting
Media School January 30, 2021
Ideally, it is believed that the standard length of a screenplay is 90 pages. Popularly, the story, or the script to be specific, is structured as: 30 pages for the first act (beginning), 30 pages for the second act (middle), and 30 pages for the third act (end); this technique is known as the 30-30-30 rule.
Of course, the story structure is much more complicated than this simple division; yet, this rule helps to write a script within or around 90 pages.
